State of Maryland.  Anne Arundel County to wit

Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that On this 4.th day of May
1847 before me the subscriber One of the Justices of the peace in and for the
state and County aforesaid personally appeared Henry M Leitch he being
known to me to be the person who is named and declared as, and professing
to be a party to the foregoing deed or indenture and doth acknowledge the
said indenture or instrument of writing to be his act and deed  In testimony
whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid

Mortgage from James Trainer
                         To
George D. Loyles

This Indenture made this First day of May in
the year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred
and forty Seven, between James Trainer of
Calvert County and State of Maryland of the One part and George D Loyles
of Anne Arundel County and state aforesaid of the other part
Whereas the said James Trainer Owes and stands justly indebted to the
said George D. Lyles in the sum of Sixty dollars current money and to
secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents
Now this indenture Witnesseth that the said James Trainer, for and
in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current
money to him in hand paid by the said George D. Lyles at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents
doth grant bargain and sell unto the said George D Lyles his executors
administrators and assigns One Grey Mare about Five years old
To Have and To Hold the said Grey Mare unto the said George D.
Lyles, his executors, administrators and assigns to his and their own
use and behoof         Provided always and it is declared to be the true
intent and meaning of these presents that if the said James Trainer do
and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said George
D. Lyles his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of Sixty dollars
current money with legal interest for the same on or before the thirtieth
day of November in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty Eight
then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein
contained shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and
purposes any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding
In Witness whereof the said James Trainer has hereunto set his
hand and seal on the day and year first above written
