174 Acknowledged before Joshua Stewart Recorded the 14.th day of March 1847 costs 62½ Ex d d
dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid by Matthew Boswell of Baltimore City at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Matthew Boswell his Executors administrators and assigns my negro girl named Margaret Thorn to serve until January eighteen hundred and fifty six at which tim she shall be free if she is living. To Have and To Hold the said described Negro Girl to the said Matthew Boswell his executors administrators and assigns and I the said William C Childs for myself heirs Executors and administrators the said negro girl unto the said Matthew Boswell his executors administrators and assigns against me the said William C Child my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and seal this the 24.th day of February eighteen hundred and forty seven Signed sealed and delivered William C Child (seal) in the presence of Matthew Boswell (seal) Geo D Lyles E. F. Childs State of Maryland Anne Arundel County SS. Be it remembered that on this day of Feb 24.th 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said Coty appears William C Child & Matthew Boswell and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Geo D Lyles Recorded the 6.th day of March 1847
