171 G Waters Executor of Charles Waters dec.d of Baltimore City and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and ten dollars lawful money of the United States secured by note to be paid by Randolph S. Cromwell of Anne Arundel County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Randolph S. Cromwell his executors administrators and assigns one negro man named Allick about twenty five years old of the property of Charles Waters late of the City of Baltimore deceased as a slave to serve until the first day of May eighteen hundred and fifty seven (1857) and thereafter to be free and discharged from all manner of servitude agreeably to the form and effect of the last will and testament of the said dec.d The said negro man being sold and conveyed by me as Executor and in virtue of the power and authority vested in me by said last will and testament. To Have and To Hold the said described Negro man Allick for the term aforesaid but no longer to the said Randolph S. Cromwell his Executors administrators and assigns as aforesaid In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this fifth day of February eighteen hundred and forty seven F. G. Waters Exr (seal) Signed sealed and delivered of Chas Waters decd in the presence of Joshua Stewart P. S. Cromwell (seal) At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Ss Be it remembered that on this fifth day of February 1847 before the Subscriber a justice of the peace for said County appears F. G. Waters Executor as aforesaid & Randolph S. are desirous of obtaining additional advances in future upon consignment of goods made by said Company to Lemmon & Glenn And whereas the Covington Manufacturing Company are desirous of securing to said Lemmon & Glenn the amount of such advances already made or hereafter to be made whether the same may be made in case or by promissory notes or Bills of Exchange and also all promissory notes now held by said Lemmon & Glenn made by said Covington Manufacturing Company.
