for ever Provided always and these presents are upon this Condition that if
the said Charles Richardson his Executors or administrators shall and do well
and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Vachel Harden his Executors
administrators or assigns the full amount of the said note and Interest then and
in such Case these presents and every matter and thing herein Contained Shall
Cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes whatsoever
In Witness whereof the said Charles Richardson hath hereunto set his hand
and seal the day and year aforementioned

                         On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sc  Be it remembered
that on this 16th day of October 1839 before me the subscriber a Justice of
the peace of the state of maryland in and for the County of Anne Arundel
personally Came Charles Richardson within named and acknowledged
the foregoing mortgage or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed

    Whereas Thamazine R Ellicott wife of Nathaniel H Ellicott of Ellicotts
Mills Anne Arundel County did relinquish her right of dower in all the lands
and Estate heretofore conveyed to Robert Mickle in trust for the benefit of the
Creditors of Jonathan Ellicott & Sons by the said Nathaniel H Ellicott and
others and whereas in consideration thereof it was understood that out of
the debts due to said firm there should be a sum of money paid to the said
Thamazine R Ellicott equivalent to the sum which would be allowed by
Baltimore County Court sitting in Equity as and for her dower of all the said
lands and Estate had been sold by its decree and she had Consented thereto
and whereas the said lands are Estimated to be worth Two hundred and
Forty one thousand Two hundred and ninety Eight dollars and the value
of her dower in her said husbands interest therein amounts according to the
rules of said Court to 7820 49/100 Dollars and whereas the said Nathaniel
H Ellicott is desirous to secure all the furnature and household stuff now in
his dwelling house at Ellicotts Mills Anne Arundel County according to a
schedule hereunto annexed as a part of the said to the exclusive and separate
use of the said Thamazine  Now therefore know all men by these presents that
in Consideration of the premises and of the Sum of Five dollars to the said
Nathaniel H Ellicott in hand paid by George T Tremble of the state of and City
