their own use and behoof  Provided always and it is the true intent and
meaning of these presents that if the said William McNier do and shall
well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Mary Dryden Hall her
Executors administrators or assigns the full sum of one thousand dollars
Current money with legal interest for the same which interest is to be paid
annually on or before the Eighteenth day of may in the year Eighteen
hundred and forty two then and in such Case these presents and every
matter and thing herein Contained shall cease determine and be
utterly void to all intents and purposes anything herein Contained
to the Contrary Notwithstanding  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal the day and year first above written

                At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct  I hereby Certify that on this
22nd day of July in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty nine before me
the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for
Anne Arundel County personally appears William McNier he being
known to me to be the person who is named and described as and
professing to be a party to the foregoing Indenture and doth acknowledge
the said Indenture or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed  In
Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year

Know all men by these that I Warren L Nicoll of Harford
County in the state of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one
hundred and Eight dollars and fifty cents to me in hand paid by Francis
Boutin have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and
sell unto the said Francis Boutin all and each of the following named
Negroes Slaves and all my interest in them of every sort and description
they being slaves for life to wit  Dempsey and old mare aged about sixty
years woman Hannah aged about thirty years woman Harriet aged
about twenty six years boy Martin aged about seventeen years girl
Louisa aged about seventeen years boy William aged about thirteen
years girl Violett aged about thirteen years girl Mary aged about
twelve years girl Eliza aged about ten years girl Amanda aged about
Seven years boy Jacob aged about five years boy Michael aged about
