of Dick Brown which said slave is a slave for life which I will warrant
and forever defend to the said George Fox his Executors administrators and
assigns against me my Executors and administrators and against every other
person whatsoever  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and affixt my seal this thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand Eight hundred & thirty nine               her

                         At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Ann Arundel County  On this thirty first day
May Eighteen hundred & thirty nine  Before me one of the Justices of
the peace In and for the state & County aforesaid personally appeared
Areyminta Stinchcomb and acknowledged the above Instrument
of writing to be her act and deed according to the true Intent and
Meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and
provided                                 Jacob Bradenbaugh

       $100      Received of George Fox the full sum of one hundred dollars
being the Consideration expressed to be paid in the within bill of sale

Know all men by these that I James Mangun of Anne Arundel
County for and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty Eight dollars Eighty
Eight & a half cents to me in hand paid by Nicholas Owens & Wm J Leitch
of the County aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivering hereof
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said
Nicholas Owens & Wm J Leitch their Executors administrators and assigns
one dark bay mare about nine years old and one black & white
Cow now in my possession  To have and to hold the same described
property above bargained and sold to the said Nicholas Owens & W.m
J Leitch their Executors administrators and assigns to them and their
only proper use and benefit provided always and it is the true
intent and meaning of these presents and of the said parties hereunto
that if the said James Mangun his Executors or administrators do and
shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Nicholas
Owens & Wm J Leitch their Executors administrators or assigns the said
full sum of Thirty Eight dollars Eighty Eight and a half Cents Current
