therein named John Armager upon the Condition only therein declared as
Collateral Security for the money therein described and no other according to
the true intent and meaning of the same and the Acts of Assembly in such cases
made and provided

4      Recorded the 16th day of January 1845


    Know all men by these presents that I Vachel Sevier of Anne Arundel
County in the State of maryland in order more fully to secure a debt of four
thousand dollars due by me to John T Hodges of the County and State
aforesaid have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said John T Hodges his Executors administrators and
assigns all the goods household stuff implements and furniture herein after
particularly mentioned that is to say all my Crop of Tobacco hanging in the
house on the farm and also the Crop of wheat now growing on such farm
situate in Anne Arundel County at present occupied by me the said Vachel Sevier
supposed to contain about fifteen thousand pounds also all my horses Cattle
carts ploughs and all my other farming utensils Crop of corn Oats Provender
Blacksmiths Tools household and Kitchen furniture and Cord wood cut upon
the farm at present occupied by me the said Vachel Sevier in the County
aforesaid more particularly mentioned expressed and Contained in the
Schedule hereunto annexed  To have and To hold all and singular the said
goods household stuff and furniture and other the premises above bargained
and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said John T Hodges his
Executors administrators and assigns for ever in trust to sell and dispose of
the same or any part thereof in his or their descretion an to apply the
proceeds thereof towards the extinguishment of the aforesaid debt  In Witness
whereof the said Vachel Sevier hath hereunto set his hand and affixed
his seal on the 16 day of January in the year Eighteen hundred and forty

Signed sealed and delivered in presence of         Wm Glover

       At the foot and on the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

       State of maryland Anne Arundel County sct  And this 16th day of Jany
in the year Eighteen hundred and forty five before me the subscriber a
Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for Anne Arundel
county personally appeared Vachel Sevier and acknowledged the within
instrument of writing to be his act and deed            Wm Glover  

       A Shedule of the property in the devised bill of sale now in the possession
