376 Eighteen hundred and forty two & whereas the said John S E Nutwell is justly and bona fide indebted to the said John Hurst in the securement for which the payment aforesaid was rendered now in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by the said John Hurst I the said John S E Nutwell of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland have granted bargained and sold & by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said John Hurst his Executors administrators and assigns all the property goods & chattels hereinafter set forth that is to say One Negro man Davis aged about thirty five or forty years Negro man George aged about twenty five years Jim aged about twenty five years William aged about Eighteen years Joseph aged about ten years Negro woman Harriet aged about thirty years Betty aged about thirty five years, Negro Girl Milly aged about two years Negro boy Tip & Ty aged about four years boy Wesley aged about six years Girl Spirage aged about twenty years seven horses ten cows Eight Cows fifteen head of young cattle and a crop of Tobacco all which said property goods & chattels are now on the premises owned and occupied by the said John S E Nutwell in Anne Arundel County aforesaid To have and To hold all and singular the said goods chattels & property above bargained & sold or intent to be bargained and sold to the said John Hurst his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said John S E Nutwell for myself my heirs Executors and administrator all and singular the abovementioned goods chattels & property unto the said John Hurst his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said John S E Nutwell my Executors & administrators and against all and every other person whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods chattels & property I the said John S E Nutwell the said John Hurst have put in full possession by delivering to him the said John Hurst one bundle of Tobacco in the name of the whole property & chattels hereby bargained & sold In Witness whereof I the said John S C Nutwell have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on the twenty fourth day of December Eighteen hundred and forty four Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of the interlineation of the first page being John S E Nutwell (seal) first written J W Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland A A County sc Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of December Eighteen hundred and forty four personally appeared the above named John S E Nutwell before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State (of) |
