           This Indenture made this thirteenth day of November in the year of
our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four  Between Betts Pusey &
Harlan a firm composed of the undersigned of the Town of Wilmington in the State
of Delaware of the one part and The Annapolis and Elkridge railroad Company
of the other part  Whereas the said Annapolis and Elk ridge railroad Company by
their Indenture of Mortgage bearing date on the Eighth day of April one thousand
Eight hundred and forty one duly Executed acknowledged and recorded among
the personal deed record books of Anne Arundel County in Liber W S G No 2 folio 120ct
did for and in consideration of the sum of seven thousand two hundred and
fifty six dollars and twenty five Cents Current money grant bargain sell alien
enfeoff and confirm unto the said Betts Pusey & Harlan and the survivor of
them or to their assigns the following property to wit  One Eight wheeled baggage
and Negro Car one Eighteen wheeled Passenger Car one Eight wheeled Ladies Car
one four wheel passenger Car and one four wheel merchandize car together with
all the fixtures to said Cars belonging as by reference to the said deed of mortgage
will more fully appear  And whereas the said Annapolis and Elk ridge
rail road Co have fully paid and satisfied to them the said Betts Pusey &
Harlan the above mentioned sum of money and they the said Betts Pusey &
Harlan have granted to Execute these presents as in full release of the above
described property  Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Betts
Pusey & Harlan for and in consideration of the payment of the above mentioned
sum of money and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar Current
money to them in hand paid by the said Annapolis and Elkridge rail road
Company at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold
released enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain
and sell release enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Annapolis and Elk ridge rail
road Company and their successors the above described property  To have and
To hold the said described property with the appurtenances thereunto
belonging to the said Annapolis and Elkridge rail road Company their
successors and assigns for ever  In Testimony whereof the said parties of the
first part have hereunto subscribed their hands and seals on the day
and year first above written                          Mahlon Betts      (seal)
Signed Sealed and delivered in presence      Saml N Pusey     (seal)
of      D L Woody   Isaiah Spark                 Saml Harlan Jr     (seal)

          At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
