346 This Indenture made this thirtieth day of July in the year Eighteen hundred and forty four Between Gustavus A Thompson of the City of Annapolis Maryland (now in the City of New York) of the one part and Abraham & Zane also of the city of annapolis of the other part Whereas the said Abraham & Zane hath taken up and satisfied certain debts due by the said Thompson to A B Marvin William Tileston J N Hayes Messrs Hamilton Terry and Dow Robert Hyslop & son Osborn Saddler Frederick Tullog Broughton & Company and Branbull Ebernathy & Collins and others amounting in the whole to about the sum of And whereas the said Zane hath incurred great Costs and expenses in procuring the discharge of the said Harrison from his arrest in the City of New York by the payment of the debts aforesaid as by other means for all of which the said Thompson is desirous to save and indemnify the said Zane harmless and for that purpose hath agreed to Execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Gustavus A Thompson for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of Ten dollars to him in hand paid by the said Abraham & Zane the receipt of which the said Thompson doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold and delivered and hereby doth grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Abraham & Zane all the goods wares and merchandize now situate and being in the Store and warehouse on Church Street in the City of Annapolis where the said Thompson Carried on Merchandize and trade consisting of Dry goods Groceries wines liquors hosiery hardware Boots shoes Hats Caps China glass Crockery ware and various other articles and also all the stove fixtures weights measures boxes casks &c &c in said Store and warehouse also all the household and kitchen furniture and any description of personal property of the said Thompson now being in and upon the house and premises lying on West Street in the City of Annapolis aforesaid where the said Thompson's family now reside and also all the Crops growing or gathered upon the lands lying on the said Magothy and Chesapeake bay in Anne Arundel County and State of maryland which the said Thompson purchased of Richard J Jones and all the right title and interest of the said Thompson in and to the same and to the rents issues and profits of the said lands and also all the Stock of horses mules Cattle sheep hogs Poultry provisions fire wood and other personal property of the said Thompson in or upon the aforesaid land and premises also a thresshing machine and horse power now in broad Neck and also all the bonds notes open accounts Judgments and other chures in action of the said (Thompson) |
