338 Know all men by these presents that I Robert B Porter of Baltimore City & County and State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid by George R Webb of Anne Arundel County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said George R Webb his Executors administrators and assigns One Negro Girl named Eliza Jackson aged four years on the fourth day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty three to serve until she the said Negro Eliza Jackson shall arrive at the age of Thirty one years To have and To hold the said described Negro Eliza Jackson to the said George R Webb his Executors administrators and assigns and he the said Robert B Porter for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said Negro Eliza Jackson unto the said George R Webb his Executors administrators and assigns against him the said Robert B Porter his Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming through by or under him shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twelfth day of June Eighteen hundred and forty four Signed Sealed & delivered in Robt B Porter (seal) presence of: Geo P Woodward George R Webb (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Baltimore City fss Be it remembered that on this twelfth day of June Eighteen hundred and fourty four before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said City appears Robert B Porter and George R Webb and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Geo P Woodward Ex.d .d .d paid 50 3¼ Recorded the 20th day of June 1844 Know all men by these presents that I Ann Carr of the State of maryland Anne Arundel County in the town of Village of Friendship in said County from Maternal affection and the satisfaction of my own Children Susan R Carr Philip D Henry Carr and Ann E Carr all now living with me except my son P D H Carr and he is also within the County only a few miles off engaged in merchandize as clerk for another man in consideration of the reasons aforesaid and for the better maintainance and comfortable living of my Children as aforesaid I do hereby give set over and convey all my legal right title and interest both in law and equity to Susan R Carr my servant woman Esther Wallace aged about fifty years old but of sound health and (strength) |
