Witnesseth that the said Henry J Thompson for and in consideration of the
premises and for and in Consideration of the sum of ten dollars to him in hand paid
by by the said President Directors and Company the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and doth hereby grant bargain
and sell to the said President Directors and Company and their Successors the
Vessel or Schooner called The "William Brewer of Annapolis" burthen fifty
five tons and Eighty five ninety fifths parts of a Ton having a square stern
no galleries and no figurehead together with all her masts yards Sails Rigging
Boats Anchors Cables Tackle apparel and appertenances whatsoever  To have
and To hold the same unto the said President Directors and Company their
successors and assigns for ever  Provided always and these presents are upon
this condition that if the said Henry J Thompson or any person for him
his Executors administrators or assigns shall pay the said notes and all
renewals and substitutes therefor or for any part thereof with all Costs and
Charges interest and discount thereon then this Indenture to be void to all
intents and purposes and provided also that until default in the payment
thereof as aforesaid the said Henry J Thompson his Executors administrators
or assigns shall peaceably and lawfully have hold and enjoy the said vessel
and appertenances as aforesaid and receive the issues and profits thereof
to and for his and their only proper use and behoof without any hindrance
suit or claim of the said President Directors and Company or their successors or any
person or persons claiming by from or through them  In Witness whereof the said
Henry J Thompson hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day
and year herein first before written

                         At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

       On this twenty first day of march in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty
nine before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland
in & for Anne Arundel County personally appears the within named Henry
J Thompson and acknowledges this Instrument of writing to be his act and deed
according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of
assembly in such case made and provided
