328 Know all men by these presents that I Dorsey Jacob of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland and administrator of Charlotte Gray late of said County deceased for the Consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty six dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Orlander Hancock of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have as administrator of Charlotte Gray granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Orlander Hancock his Executors administrators and assigns the aforesaid deceased Negro Slave Washington To have and To hold the said male Negro Slave Washington unto the said Orlander Hancock his Executors administrators and assigns from the day of the date of these presents until the 16th day of April Eighteen hundred and fifty one and not longer at which date the term of service which was due from said Slave to said decease expires and the said Slave will be free by virtue of the last will and testament of a certain John Boone of Nicholas late of Anne Arundel County deceased the said Negro slave Washington J Dorsey Jacob as administrator of Charlotte Gray will warrant and defend and by these presents do warrant and defend unto the said Orlander Hancock his Executors administrators and assigns against me my Executors administrators and assigns and against all other person or persons whatsoever until the said 16th day of April Eighteen hundred and fifty one and not longer In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this 23rd day of April Eighteen hundred and forty four In presence of Robt Boone Dorsey Jacob (seal) Stephen Gray Orlander Hancock (seal) On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland County of Anne Arundel fc Be it remembered that on this twenty third day of April Eighteen hundred and forty four before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of said State in and for said county duly Commissioned and sworn personally appeared Dorsey Jacob and Orlander Hancock they being known unto me to be the persons who are named and described as and professing to be the parties to the foregoing bill of sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be their act & deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year above written Rob.t Boone Exd d d 11 December paid 50 3 Recorded the 3d day of May 1844 Know all men by these presents that I Dorsey Jacob of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland and administrator of Charlotte Gray late of said County deceased for the Consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Stephen Gray of the County and State aforesaid the (receipt) |
