          On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  On this 17 day of October Eighteen hundred
and forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County and State
aforesaid personally appeared William R Thompson and acknowledged the aforegoing
instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned  And I Certify
that I am satisfied from my own knowledge that the said William R Thompson who
Executed and acknowledged the said instrument of writing before me is the Identical person
named therein and professing to Execute the same

3½      Recorded the 18 day of October 1843


       This Indenture made this 18th day of October in the year of Eighteen
hundred and forty three  Between William McNeir of the City of Annapolis
Maryland of the one part and James Iglehart and Alexander Randall of
the said City and State on the other part  Whereas the said Iglehart and
Randall have become responsible to the President Directors and Company
of the Farmers Bank of maryland for the payment of three hundred dollars
borrowed this day by the said McNeir of the said President Directors and
Company for his own use by renewed  And whereas it is the intention of
the said parties to Execute these presents and to indemnify and save harmless
the said Iglehart and Randall and each of them on account of the said debt
or responsibility or any other they or either of them may assume touching the
said debt or any part thereof in the first place   And whereas the said McNeir
stands indebted to the President Directors and Company of the Farmers Bank
of maryland in another loan of one hundred and ninety dollars and twenty
five Cents on a protested note indorsed by Washington G Tuck and George
McNeir with interest thereon from the twenty first day of November Eighteen
hundred and forty two and Costs on which suit has been instituted which
debt interest and Costs it is also the intention of these presents to secure after
the payment or indemnity of the note first aforesaid  Now this Indenture
Witnesseth that the said William McNeir for and in consideration of the
premises and for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars Current
money to him in hand paid by the said Iglehart and Randall the
receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and
sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said
