199 At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland A A County To wit On this 30th day of September 1842 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears Joshua Johnson and acknowledge the foregoing writting to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such Case made and provided Exd d d Robt Boone paid 50 Recorded the 1st day of October 1842 Know all men by these presents that I Fielder Owens of Anne Arundel County Maryland for and in consideration of the Sum of one thousand dollars Current Money of the United States to me in hand paid by Dennis Owens of the same place at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Dennis Owens his Executors administrators and assigns my negro man named Bazil aged about twenty six years all my household furniture of every description Eight head of cattle four horses and fifteen head of Hogs To have and To hold the said Negro man Bazil and other property above mentioned and bargained and sold or intended so to be to the said Dennis Owens his Executors administrators and assigns for ever and I the said Fielder Owens for myself my heirs Executors and administrators the said negro man Basil as a slave and the said household furniture cattle horses and Hogs unto the said Dennis Owens his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Fielder Owens my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness Whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this day of October in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty three Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Fielder Owens (seal) J W Hunter Wm Glover At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this sixth day of October in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two personally appears Fielder Owens party grantor within named before us the subscribers Justices of the peace of the state of maryland for Anne Arundel County and acknowledges the aforegoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negro Slave and other property also therein named and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of the said Dennis Owens party grantee also therein named his heirs (and) |
