null and void any thing herein Contained to the Contrary thereof in any
wise Notwithstanding  And the said Annapolis and Elkridge Rail Road
Company doth hereby nominate Constitute and appoint Nicholas H Green Esquire
of the City of Annapolis its true and lawful Attorney for it and in its name to
acknowledge the aforegoing deed or indenture before such person or persons
in the state of maryland who are or shall be authorised to receive and
take the same and to cause or procure the same to be recorded according
to the laws of the said state and the Annapolis and Elkridge Rail Road
Company doth hereby ratify and Confirm the acknowledgement and
recording aforesaid so to be had and made by the said Nicholas H Green
as aforesaid      In witness whereof I Somerville Pinkney Resident of
the Annapolis & Elkridge Rail Road Company have hereunto subscribed
my name and Caused the Corporate seal of the said Company to be hereunto
affixed the day and year first above written

                   On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit  Be it remembered
that on this 21.st day of November 1840 before me the subscriber a Justice
of the peace of the state of maryland for the County aforesaid personally appears
Nicholas H Green of the City of Annapolis named in the power of attorney
Contained in the aforegoing Indenture and by virtue of the said power of
Attorney Contained in the said Indenture acknowledges the said Indenture
for and in the name of and as the act and deed of the Annapolis and
Elkridge Rail Road Company above and therein named in order that
the same may be recorded according to law  And I Certify that I am
Satisfied of my own knowledge that Nicholas H Green acknowledging
as aforesaid is the identical person named and described in the power
of Attorney Contained in the Said deed      Acknowledged before and
Certified by            Taken and Certified by          Wm Glover
NB   The word "September erased and November inserted before
Acknowledgment                     W.m Glover

    This Indenture made this sixteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one
thousand Eight hundred and forty between Thomas Karney of Anne Arundel County
in the State of Maryland of the one part and James Iglehart of the said County and
State of the other part  Whereas the Said Thomas Karney owes and stands Justly indebted
