Baltimore County put and placed and by these presents doth put and bind out Thomas Meney Coloured Boy who on the 1.st day January next will be of the age of nine years old as an apprentice to Nicholas J. Barnett of Howard county to learn the art trade or mystery of Farming the said Thomas Meney after the manner of an apprentice to dwell with and serve the said Nicholas J. Barnett from the day of the date hereof until the first day of January in the year eighteen hundred and sixty Eight at which time the said Thomas Meney apprentice if he should be living will be twenty one years of age; during all which time or term the said apprentice his said master well and faithfully shall serve; his secrets keep and his lawful commands everywhere at all times readily obey he shall do no damage to his said master nor wilfully suffer any to be done by others; and if any to his knowledge be intended he shall give his master seasonable notice thereof he shall not waste the goods of his master nor lend them unlawfully to any; at cards, dice or any other unlawful games he shall not play; fornication he shall not commit nor matrimony contract during the said term; taverns and places of gaming he shall not frequent; he shall not drink or |
