88 1855 at ¼ past 12 o'clock P. M. same day recorded and examined per W. H. Worthington clk
& twenty five dollars lawful money of the united states in hand paid by Robert H. Hare of Howard county & same state which is in full payment for my negro slave named John Collins of copper colour he being Eleven years old on the thirtieth day of august Eighteen hundred & forty seven (1847) to serve as a slave until he is twenty five years old or untill the thirtieth day of august Eighteen hundred & sixty one (1861) and no longer and then to be free and discharged from all further and manner of servitude as will more fully appear on reference to the Bill of sale from James L. Luther to sam.l H. Redgrave now on record in the office of the late clerk of Baltimore city & county court (A. W. Bradford) which negro is sold without guarantee of any sort or kind whatever by me except that he is a bona fide slave for the above named time and no longer said negro slave is neither to be taken sent carried nor in any way whatever by any person or persons removed without the limits of the state of maryland The right and title of said slave I will forever warrant guarantee and defend against all claim or claims of any kind whatever for the period above mentioned.
