Simpson of Howard county and state of maryland at the ensealing and delivery of these presents have bargained sold and delivered to the said William Simpson one negro boy named Allen to serve untill the twenty six day of December Eighteen hundred and sixty six at which time he will be thirty years old and entitled to his freedom according to the last will and testament of Brioche J. Worthington of Anne Arundel county deceased the said Allen being the child of one sophia who was purchased by Basil & Lloyd Ridgely at the sale of the property of the said Brioche J. Worthington deceased and by them sold to Charles R. simpson deceased which said negro boy Allen I will warrant and defend to the said William Simpson his heirs & assigns against me the said Richard simpson my heirs and assigns and against all manner of persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by or under us or either of us in any manner whatsoever. In Witness whereof I hereunto to set my hand and affix my seal this second day of April at Eighteen hundred and fifty five signed sealed and delivered Richard G. Simpson (seal) |
