named to wit one Bay mare one grey mare one
red and white cow one brindle and white cow one
spotted bull yearling one red buffalo yearling two
brood sows fourteen shoats one cook stove and fixtures
three feather Beds three Bedsteads and Bedding
two tables six chairs one wagon two ploughs
one harrow and two sets wagon gear two sets plow
gear and all my crop of rye growing all my corn
in the house & Bacon.  To Have and To Hold all and
singular the said goods and chattels unto the said
Nicholas R. Warfield his heirs and assigns to his
and their own proper use and benefit provided
always and it is the true intent and meaning
of these presents and of the parties hereto that
if the said William H. Duvall his heirs executors
or administrators shall pay or cause to
be paid unto the said Nicholas R. Warfield his
executors administrators or assigns the said
sum of sixty dollars owing as aforesaid on or
before the first day of march eighteen hundred
and fifty six and shall from time to
time save and keep harmless the said Nicholas
R. Warfield from loss by reason of the several
liabilities herein before mentioned that
then these presents and every matter and
thing herein contained shall cease and be utterly
null and void to all intents and purposes
any thing herein contained to the contrary thereof
in any wise notwithstanding.  In Testimony
whereof the said William H. Duvall has hereto
set his hand and seal on the day and year first
herein written
signed sealed and delivered                          his
before me the words "to samuel   William H. x Duvall   (seal)
R. Gaither" on the first
page being interlined before
signing    Reuben Warfield

state of maryland Howard county to wit
On this first day of March Anno Domini eighteen
hundred and fifty five before me a justice of the
peace of the state of Maryland in and for Howard
county aforesaid personally appeared William
H. Duvall he being known by me to be the person
who is named and described as and professing
to be the party to the aforegoing Mortgage or instrument
