to me in hand paid by Nace Hall of the County and State aforesaid at ^or^ and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Phillip H Hopkins do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Nace Hall his executors administrators and assigns his wife Harriet (daughter of Nick and Nace) and her four children viz Mary Ann George Joseph and Martha now in the possession of the said Phillip H Hopkins to have and to hold all and singular the said slaves above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said Nace Hall his executors administrators and assigns forever And I the said Phillip H Hopkins for my self my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said slaves unto the said Nace Hall his executors administrators and assigns against me the said Phillip H Hopkins my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person and persons Whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents This 28th day of February 1839 Signed Sealed and delivered Philip Hammond Hopkins (seal) in the presence of Corns Duvall Esquire or Justice of the peace Test John M Duvall Received to be recorded on the 30th day of May 1860 same day recorded and examined per W W Watkins clk
