entitled an act to authorise the formation of Corporations for
manufacturing purposes It is hereby Certified by us

A. Gary & Evan Thomas Jr that the whole amount of the Capital
Stock of the Sagonan Manufacturing Company
of Howard County incorporated under the act before recited:
To wit the Sum of one hundred and twenty five
thousand dollars has been paid in ($125.000)

and sixty before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace
for Howard County personally appeared W G THomas
President of the Sagonan Manurg Company of Howard
County who affirmed according to law that the facts
set forth in the above certificate are true as therein
sealed   In Testimony Whereof I hereto Subscribe my
Name on the day and year above mentioned

County and State of Maryland
do hereby manumit and set free
from all manner of servitude my slave
(Son) Henry Roberts whom I have this day brought from
Major Henry H Owings aged about fourteen years
his freedom to commence when he shall ^have^ arrived at
the age of twenty one years witness my hand and seal
