the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for the State of Maryland in and for
Howard County and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of sale to be his act
And at the same time appeared Geo W Cook and made oath on the Holy
Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the foregoing
of sale is true and bona fide  Witness my hand and seal

Joshua Woods
  I William H Stackhouse of Howard County
 Maryland in consideration of the sum of one hundred
dollars and eighty nine dollars and thirty six cents
one hundred and sixteen dollars and seventy five cents
                    of which is owing and due to Joshua Woods of Carroll County and seventy
                    two dollars and sixty one cents of which the said Joshua Woods and
                    Rufus W Burdett has this day superceded for the said William H
                    Stackhouse to Abram England.  I the said William H Stackhouse do
                    bargain and sell to the said Joshua Woods and Rufush Burdett
                    one brown mare, one bay Horse, one red cow one black and white Cow
                    and crops of every kind and description now growing on my farm all
                    which is now in my possession; provided however that if the said
                    William H Stackhouse shall well and truly pay the aforesaid sums
                    of money with interest thereon on or before the thirtieth day of July
                    Eighteen hundred and sixty then this instrument of writing shall
                    be null and void  Witness my hand and seal this 30.th day of July
                    Eighteen hundred and fifty nine

                    State of Maryland Howard County to wit:  I hereby certify that on this
                    thirtieth day of July Eighteen hundred and fifty nine before me a justice
                    of the peace in and for said County personally appeared William
                    H Stackhouse and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of Sale to
                    be his act and deed:  And at the same time personally appeared
                    Joshua Woods and Rufus W Burdett and made oath on the
                    Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned
                    in said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein Set forth
                                                                            Reuben Warfield
                    Received to be recorded on the 2nd day of August 1859 at 11½
                    Oclock A. M same day Recorded and Examined per
