I Wm A Loder a justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland in
and for the county of Howard do hereby certify that Nathan C
Brooks and John J. Mayfield subscribing witnesses to the within
Bond do make oath according to law that the obligors mentioned
in said Bond did severally and in our presence sign seal and deliver the
said bond as their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned
          Given under my hand and seal this 16.th day of February in the
year 1859

James Chambers
             to
Sundry negroes
    Be it remembered that on the twentieth day of February
eighteen hundred and twenty one the following
manumission or instrument of writing was recorded received
to be recorded and was accordingly enrolled as follows
to wit:  Know all men by these presents that I James Chambers of
Talbot County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and
considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery, liberated
manumitted, and set free and by these presents do hereby release
from slavery, liberate, manumit set free from and after the several
and respective dates and periods hereinafter respectively appointed
and prescribed all and singular the negro slaves male and female
hereinafter named and described and also all and singular the issue
of the same female slaves at the several ages hereinafter respectively
prescribed that is to say a negro man named Jim, aged about twenty
five years from and after the first day of January eighteen hundred
and thirty, a negro boy named Tom aged about twenty years from
and after the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirty
three, a negro girl named Patience aged about seventeen years
from and after the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirty
a negro child named Charlotte aged about nine years from and
after the first day of January eighteen hundred and thirty nine and
all and singular the issue of the said female slaves each and
every of them at their respective age of twenty five years and
I do by these presents declare the said negro slaves male and female
henceforth manumitted and all and singular the said issue
of the said female slaves to be free, manumitted and discharged
from all manner of servitude or service to me my
executors or administrators from and after the several respective
dates periods and ages hereinbefore respectively
