State of Maryland
Maryland SC.  Know all men by these presents
That we John Norwood Isaac Ridgly & John
S Martin all of Howard County District of Anne
Arundel County and state of Maryland are
held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and
just sum of two thousand dollars current money to be paid to the
state of Maryland: to the which payment well and truly to be
made and done we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators
jointly and severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed
with our seals and dated this 4.th day of Januay in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine
The conditions of the above obligation is such that if the above
bounden John Norwood appointed a constable in the 3.rd
Election District of Howard County do and shall well and
truly faithfully execute the same office in all things appertaining
thereto and shall well and faithfully execute all warrants
and other process to him directed and delivered and shall also
well and truly pay and deliver to the person or persons entitled
to receive the same all sum or sums of money, tobacco, goods
and chattels or other property by him levied, seized or taken
agreeably to the directions of the said warrant or process under which
the same shall have been levied seized or taken in execution
without suffering them or any of them and shall also keep
and detain in safe costody all and every person or persons
committed to his costody or by him taken in execution with
out suffering them or any of them to escape or depart from his
costody and shall also well and truly execute and perform
the several duties required of or imposed upon him by the laws
of this state then this obligation to be void and of none effect
else to remain in full force and virtue in law
