Robert K. Martin
I George J. Martin Physician of Howard
County State of Maryland in Consideration
of the Sum of one hundred and
forty dollars paid me by Robert Kirkwood
Martin of said County and State do hereby
                        bargain and sell to the said Robert Kirkwood Martin the following
                        property to wit one bay horse ten years old this spring
                        Witness my hand and Seal this 24th day of March 1858

                        State of Maryland  Howard County to wit:
                        I hereby certify that on this 24th day of March 1858 personally
                        appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for
                        Howard County aforesaid George J Martin Physician of Howard
                        County State of Maryland and acknowledged the foregoing
                        Bill of Sale to be his act and at the same time personally
                        appeared Robert Kirkwood Martin and made oath in due form
                        of law that the consideration mentioned in the above bill of
                        sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth

This Deed made this twenty fourth
day of March in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty eight
by James Sykes of Howard County in the
State of Maryland.  Witnesseth that Whereas
                              the said James Sykes has hitherto been engaged in business
                              and becoming embarrassed in His affairs has determined
                              to execute an assignment of all his property Stock and assets
                              of every description for the benefit of all his Creditors as hereinafter
                              stipulated
                                      Now therefore in consideration of the premises and of the
                              Sum of five dollars lawful money the said James Sykes doth
                              grant bargain and sell assign and transfer unto Daniel Miller
                              of the City of Baltimore and State aforesaid his heirs executors
                              administrators and assigns all the estate effects and
                              property, Stock in trade, fixtures, machinery, tools implements
                              and chattels of every description whatsoever belonging to the
