227 and by these presents doth place and bind out his daughter Elizabeth Franklin who was two years old on the twenty fifth day of December last past as an apprentice to the said John Latchford to dwell with and serve the said John Latchford from the date of these presents untill the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and seventy three when the said Elizabeth shall attain to the age of eighteen years of age during all of which time and term the said Elizabeth shall the said John Latchford well and faithfully serve in all such lawfull business as the said Elizabeth shall be put unto by her said Master according to the power and ability of her the said Elizabeth and honestly and obediently in all things shall behave herself towards her said master and honestly orderly towards the rest of the family of the said John Latchford and the said John Latchford on his part doth hereby covenant, grant and agree to well and faithfully find and provide for the said Elizabeth during the term aforesaid good and sufficient meat drink clothing and other necessaries fit and convenient for said Elizabeth during the term aforesaid and at the expiration thereof shall give unto the said Elizabeth two suits of wearing apparel one suitable for sundays and the other for working days In testimony whereof the said Abraham Franklin and John Latchford have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Signed sealed and delivered his in the presence of Abraham x Franklin (seal) Cons.t O'Conner mark Thomas J. White State of Maryland Howard County to wit Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this nineteenth day of February Eighteen hundred and fifty seven before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State & County aforesaid personally appeared Abraham Franklin and acknowledged the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed Tho.s J.
