219 State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct: I hereby certify that William H. Hayward Esquire before whom the annexed acknowledgment was made and who has thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn (Seals) In testimony whereof I hereto set my (Place) hand and affix the seal of the Superior Court of Baltimore City this 6.th day of April A. one part and Robert Lilly of the said County & State of the other part. Witnesseth that the Maria Bell negress hath placed and bound out by these presents doth place and bind our her daughter Susan who on the twenty fifth day of December next will be of the age of ten years as an apprentice to the said Robert Lilly the said Susan Bell to dwell with and serve the said Robert Lilly from the date of these presents until the twenty fifth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty five when the said Susan Bell negress shall attain to the age of eighteen years during all which time and term the said Susan Bell negress shall the said Robert Lilly well and faithfully serve in all such lawful business as the said Susan Bell shall be put to by her Master according to the power and ability of her the said Susan and honestly and obediently in all things shall behave herself towards his said Master and honestly and orderly towards the rest of the family of the said Robert Lilly And the said Robert Lilly on his part doth hereby promise covenant |
