justice of the peace for said County appears George R. Shane
party grantor to the foregoing bill of sale and acknowledges
the above mentioned instrument of writing to be his act and deed
according to the true intent and meaning thereof
And at the same time appeared before me Josiah Groves
the grantee in the said bill of sale named and made
oath that the consideration set forth in said bill of sale
is true and bona fide as therein set forth

Littleton Maclin
Know all men by these presents that
I George R. Shane for and in
consideration of the sum of thirty
three dollars to me in hand paid
by Littleton Maclin of Howard
County, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
have bargained sold and assigned and by these presents
do bargain sell and assign unto the said Littleton
Maclin his executors administrators and assigns all
his the said George R. Shanes right title and interest
in and to a certain Saddle Press now in the possession
of the said Shane.  To have and to hold the same unto
the said Littleton Maclin his executors administrators
and assigns forever.  Provided always nevertheless and
at any time within one year from the date hereof the
said George R. Shane Shall pay or cause to be paid
unto the said Littleton Maclin his executors administrators
or assigns the said sum of thirty three dollars with
all interest thereon which shall be then due then and
in such case this instrument of writing to be null
and void otherwise to be and remain in full legal
effect.  In testimony whereof the said Geo. R. Shane
hath hereto set his hand and affixed his seal this
twenty second day of March Eighteen hundred and
fifty four.

subscriber a justice of the peace for said County personally
