Baltimore and state aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said Harriet Sykes the following property viz one hundred and fifty barrels of corn in corn house growing crop of corn & Potatoes on the Sykesville farm one roan and one bay horse one Carriage & Harness two farms waggons & gears one ox cart six ploughs three Harrows six cultivators & shovel ploughs one thrashing machine & Horse Power one grain drill three straw cutters all the straw & hay upon the Sykesville farm four oxen sixteen head of neat cattle bulls cows & heifers 60 head of hogs & pigs Witness my hand and seal this twenty eight day of August in the Year of our lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty six James Sykes (seal) State of Maryland Howard County To Wit I hereby certify that on this twenty eight day of August 1856 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for Howard County aforesaid personally appears James Sykes and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of sale to be his act and deed Thomas Jno Hood J. P. Rec.d to be recorded on the 30th day of August 1856 same day recorded & examd per W. H. Worthington clk
