In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eight day of May Eighteen hundred and fifty six witness Basil Crapster (seal) M.cLane Brown state of Maryland Howard county on this 28.th day of may in the year 1856 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for Howard county aforesaid personally appeared Basil Crapster he being known to me of my own knowledge to be the person named and described and as professing to be a party to the foregoing indenture or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed at the same time personally appeared William H. Whalen the above named grantee and made oath that the consideration set forth in the foregoing indenture or bill of sale was true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged and sworn before and certified by McLane Brown Received to be recorded on the 28.th day of May 1856 same day recorded and examined per W.
