State of Maryland Howard county sct;
    Be it remembered and it is hereby certifyed
that on this second day of May
Eighteen hundred and fifty six before me
the subscriber one of the Justices of the
peace of the state of Maryland in and for
Howard County personally appears Humphrey
C. Hill who is known to me of my
own knowledge to be the person who is
named and described as and professing
to be the party grantor in the aforegoing
deed or Instrument of writing and
acknowledges the said Indenture Indenture
or Instrument of writing to be his
act and deed.  And at the same time
came John Forrest and made oath that
the consideration therein set forth is
true and bona fide.  In testimony
whereof I have hereunto subscribed
my name on this second day of May
eighteen hundred and fifty six

 Know all men by these presents
that I Rachel Clark
having given the property
hereinafter named to my
two daughters Margaret
Spears and Mary Iglehart
to prevent all dispute and doubt as to
whether the possession and title thereto
have legally vested in my said daughters
as I have intended should be the
case do for and in consideration of
the natural love and affection which
I have for my said daughters and in
further consideration of the sum of
five dollars to me in hand paid at and
before the sealing and delivery hereof
by the said Margaret and Mary the receipt
whereof I the said Rachel Clark
of Howard county in the state of
