16 between Henry A Penny of the one part and Amen Lowry of the other part. Whereas by bill of sale dated the fifth day of July 1851 and recorded among the chattel records of Howard County in Lib E. P. H. N.o 2 fol 329 &c the said Amen Lowry granted bargained and sold unto the said Henry A Penny his executors administrators and assigns certain goods and chattels particularly described and set forth in said bill of sale and to which reference may at all times be had. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said Henry A Penny for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Amen Lowry before the ensealing and delivery presents the receipt whereof the said Penny hereby acknowledge hath bargained and sold given granted and conveyed unto the said Amen Lowry his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the said goods and chattels so as aforesaid described in the said recorded bill of sale. To have and to hold the same unto the said Amen Lowry his executors administrators and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said Henry A. Penny hereunto sets his hand and affixes his seal this day and year first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in presence Henry A. Penny (seal) of E. C. Lyons Ignatius Waters State of Maryland Howard County Sct. On this fourth day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty four before the subscriber a justice of the peace of the said Howard County personally appears Henry A. Penny and acknowledges the aforesaid bill of sale to be his act and deed. Sworn before E. C. Lyons Received on the aforegoing instrument of writing when presented for record one dollar in lieu of Stamp under the act of 1846 ch. 61 W. H.
