City Council of Baltimore to assist in the design, construction and
equipping of improvements to the existing Baltimore Convention
Center, subject to the requirement that the grantee provide a
matching fund of at least $250,000 for this purpose (Baltimore

(E) The Baltimore Zoo. Provide a grant to the Maryland Zoological
Society for the design of improvements at the Baltimore Zoo
(Baltimore City), provided that no funds may be expended until an
approved program plan for this project has been submitted to the
budget committees and the committees have reviewed and
commented upon the program plan, or 45 days have elapsed from
the date the program plan is received by the committees. Further
provided that no funds may be expended until a match of $175,000
from the Maryland Zoological Society or Baltimore City has been
expended for this project................................................................... 175,000
(F) Inner Harbor Site Improvements. Provide a grant to the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to assist in the design and
construction of site improvements for the Inner Harbor area,
subject to the requirement that the grantee provide an equal and
matching fund for the purpose (Baltimore City).............................. 185,000
(G) Antietam/South Mountain Battlefields. Provide a grant to be
administered by the Maryland Office of Planning for the
acquisition of land at and adjacent to the Antietam and South
Mountain battlefields (Washington and Frederick Counties),
provided that no funds may be used to purchase land from nor
easements on the Kepler property.................................................... 150,000
(H) Bon Secours Hospital Baltimore, Inc. Provide a grant to the Board
of Directors of Bon Secours Hospital Baltimore, Inc. for the
renovation of the existing facility and for the design, planning,
construction and equipping of a new facility, subject to the
requirement that the grantee provide an equal and matching fund
for this purpose. Funds provided by the grantee for the purpose of
providing an equal and matching fund shall be expended prior to
the disbursement of State funding.................................................... 2,000,000
(I) Kennedy-Krieger Institute (Baltimore City). Provide a grant to the
Kennedy-Krieger Institute in Baltimore City to upgrade the
heating, ventilation, air conditioning, mechanical, and electrical
systems of the existing facilities; and to renovate existing facilities
to be used for treating children who have a combined
developmental disability and psychiatric condition, educating more
disabled elementary and middle school children, and expanding
services and programs for children with disabilities; subject to the
requirement that the grantee provide an equal and matching fund
