meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846 Chapter 271 made and provided and I am satisfied of the identity
of these parties that they are the same as represented.

Thomas B Shearman      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale was
    √      from   xd            received and recorded on the 5.th day of December Anno Domini 1853, to wit:
James Thompson           Know all men by these presents that I James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh
                                     of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of
the sum of Eighty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Thomas B. Shearman of Dorchester County
and State of Maryland have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and
sell unto the said Thomas B. Shearman his heirs and assigns the following negro Girl Woman Lydia
to serve until the last day of December Eighteen hundred and seventy according to the ^terms^ and limitations of Sarah
^Rawleigh's last will and testament and the order of the Orphans Court slave for the term of years and sound in body & mind To Have and to hold the said negro woman or girl Lydia until the last day of December Eighteen hundred and seventy according to the limitation of the will^ aforesaid as above bargained and sold unto the said Thomas B. Shearman his heirs executors administrators
and assigns against me the said James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh and her heirs executors and
administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and
forever defend.  In Testimony Whereof I, James Thompson Executor afs.d and Thomas B. Shearman have hereto
set their hands and affixed seals this twenty ninth day of November Eighteen Hundred and fifty three.

                                                 Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  On the twenty ninth day of November in
the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty three personally appeared before me a Justice of the
Peace in and for said County the within named James Thompson Executor of Sarah Rawleigh and acknowledged
the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of the same
and at the same time Came before me Thomas B. Shearman within mentioned and made oath on the Holy
Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as
therein set forth according to the true meaning of the Act of Assembly of 1846 Chapter 271 made and provided

William M. Robinson      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of
Paid      from      xd         Sale was received and recorded on the 28.th day of December 1853 to wit
William C. Huffington         Know All Men by these presents that I William C. Huffington Executor
Executor &C                  of Elizabeth Raleigh deceased of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for
and in Consideration of the Sum of Five hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by William
M. Robinson of Said County & State at & before the Sealing & delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said William
M. Robinson his executors administrators and assigns a mullatto woman Called Charity aged about seventy
Two years a Slave for life.  To have and To Hold the said Mullatto woman Charity a Slave for life to the
Said William M. Robinson his Executors administrators & assigns for ever        In witness whereof I the said
William C. Huffington Executor as aforesaid have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 26.th day of December
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three
