Daniel N. James      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
       from  xd  √       Release of Mortgage was received and recorded on the 23d day
Lewis Ross J.r         of May 1853 to wit
                                     This indenture made this 11.th day of May 1853 by Lewis Ross J.r
of Dorchester County & State of Maryland of the one part, and Daniel N. James of
the same state and County of the other part, Whereas the said Daniel N. James, by
his Mortgage bill of Sale, bearing date the 12 day of February Anno Domini Eighteen
hundred & fifty three, duly Executed acknowledged & recorded in the Chattel records
of Dorchester County, did for and in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred
dollars bargain sell unto the said Lewis Ross Junr, his Executors administrators and
assigns, two horses, one named John Richards & the other Fanny, as by reference to said
Mortgage bill of Sale will more fully appear, and whereas the said Daniel N. James
has given me other securities, for said sum of money, Now in Consideration of the premises
and the sum of one dollar, I the said Lewis Ross, am willing to execute these presents

       Now therefore this indenture witnesseth, that the said Lewis Ross Jr. for and in
Consideration of the premises and the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by
the said Daniel N. James, have bargained and sold & released, & by these presents do
give, grant, sell & release unto the said Daniel N. James, the grey horse aforesaid
called John Richards, to Have & to Hold the said grey horse called John Richards,
free cleared and discharged from all claims by from or under said Mortgage to him
& his assigns forever               Witness my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid

                   State of Maryland Dorchester County Sct.
       Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this 11th day of May Anno Domini
1853 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland personally
appears Lewis Ross Junr he being known to me to be the person who is named and described
as professing to be the party grantor or releasor, in the above instrument of writing and
doth acknowledge the said instrument of writing to be his act and deed            in testimony
whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the day & year aforesaid

Delivered to Daniel N. James October 11.th 1853


Daniel James          Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following

Lewis Ross Jr        This indenture made this 23.d day of May 1853 by Lewis Ross Jr of Dorchester
                         County & state of Maryland of the one part, and Daniel N. James of
the same County and state of the other part, Whereas the said Daniel N. James by his Mortgage Bill
of sale, bearing date the 12th day of February 1853 duly executed acknowledged and recorded in
the chattel records of Dorchester County, did for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred
dollars bargain & sell unto the said Lewis Ross Jr. his executors administrators & assigns two horses
one called John Richards & the other Fanny, as by reference to said mortgage bill of sale will more
fully appear and whereas the said Daniel N. James, has given other security or paid the said
Ross the sum mentioned in the said bill of sale.  Now in Consideration of the premises & the sum
of one dollar.  I the said Lewis Ross Jr. am willing to Execute these presents.  Now therefore this
Indenture witnesseth, that the said Lewis Ross for and in Consideration of the premises
the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Daniel N. James have bargained & sold
