35 Received December 2nd 1852 the amount of within mortgage Bill of Sale from Mr Hugh Maguire in full Amos Bowdle For and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and Seventy six dollars & seventy five Cents to me in hand paid by Hugh Maguire at and before the sealing of these presents the receipt of which I hereby acknowledge, I hereby release & make over to said Meguire all my right & title to a mortgage deed, & the property thereon mentioned executed by said Meguire to me on the 2.nd day of October 1851 & recorded in Liber W. J. N.o folios 365 & 366 one of the Chattel records of Dorchester County & I also acquit & Exonerate the said Meguire of the Sum of money therein Expressed to be due me & release the property therein mentioned as pledged for the payment thereof Witness my hand & Seal this 21st day of December 1852 Eighteen hundred and fifty two Amos Bowdle (Seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County Sct: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on the 21st day of December Anno Domini Eighteen hundred & fifty two before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in & for said County personally appears Amos Bowdle he being known to me to be the person professing to be the party to the foregoing release of mortgage and acknowledges, the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the year & day aforesaid James Craig J. P. (seal) Roger C. Robinson Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill Exd from √ of sale was received and recorded on the 3d day of January 1853 to wit Mahalah Robinson Know all men by these presents that I Mahalah Robinson of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and fifty Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Roger C. Robinson of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Mahalah Robinson do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Roger C. Robinson his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever. One negro girl Called Rose Ann about Eleven years old, One negro girl named Hester Amos about Twelve years old and one negro Boy named William Bishop about nine years old To Have and To Hold the above mentioned negroes unto the said Roger C. Robinson his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and benefit and behoof of the said Roger C. Robinson his heirs and assigns forever. Witness my hand and seal this twenty Eighth day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty two. Signed sealed and delivered her in the presence of Mahala x Robson (seal) Thomas E. Caton Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered that on this 28th day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty two Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid Personally appeared Mahalah Robinson and acknowledge the above Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be her act and deed Also the same time personally appeared Roger C. Robinson grantee of the said Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration set forth in the above & foregoing Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged before and Certified by Thomas E. Caton 1852 January 3rd Received of Mr Roger C. Robinson one dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale Francis K. Henry Clk Deld to Roger C. Robinson June 11th 1853 |
