State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  I hereby Certify that on this ninth day of August
Eighteen Hundred and fifty eight personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace
for Dorchester County aforesaid John Muir and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act

Catharine Dawson      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale
Paid      from   xd        was received and recorded on the 18th day of August Anno Domini 1858 to wit
John Muir                    I John Muir of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland in Consideration
                                   of the natural love and affection which I have and bear unto my daughter
Catharine Dawson wife of James N Dawson of the County and State aforesaid and in Consideration
of the sum of one dollar paid me by said Catharine Dawson do hereby give and
grant unto the said Catharine Dawson the following negroes viz one negro Boy called Jack,
one negro Boy called John, one negro woman called Camella, and one negro woman called Sarah
and all of which said negroes are slaves for life.      Witness my hand and seal this ninth
day of August Eighteen hundred and fifty eight.

Greenbury Holt      Be it remembered and it is hereby certify that
√      from   xd        the following Bill of Sale was received and recorded
Robert Willey         on the 7th day of September 1857 to Wit:
                                   I John Willey of Dorchester County
in consideration of one hundred Dollars paid me by Greenbury
Holt of Dorchester County do hereby bargain and sell to the said
Greenbury Holt the following property one wood cart one yoak of oxen
three Cows, one Bull, one heifer two Calves four Sheep, thirteen head
of Hogs, fourteen Pigs and crop of corn on the ground      Witness my
hand and seal this 7th day of September A D 1857.              his
