296 of the Peace in and for said County Thomas K Eunick and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that consideration set forth in the within Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Stewart Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the following Mortgage √ from xd Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 12 day of January 1858 to wit Peter Carroll I Peter Carroll of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland being now indebted to Thomas R. Stewart of the County & State aforesaid in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars with interest from 9th day of January 1858 in Consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell to the said Thomas R. Stewart the following property Viz one yoke oxen and cart, one Bay mare named Polly, four beds, bedsteads and furniture and all the entire Household and Kitchen furniture, two Cows, two yearlings, five hogs, two sows and pigs, twenty Barrels Corn, five thousand pounds blade fodder, one thousand pounds Bacon, one Buggy, one Barge, one Corn sheller, ploughs, harrows and hoes. Provided, that I the said Peter Carroll shall pay to the said Thomas Stewart the sum of Five hundred dollars with interest thereon on or before the 9th day of January Eighteen hundred and sixty then these presents shall be void. Witness my hand and seal this 9th day of January eighteen hundred fifty eight. Test Jno B Leckie Peter Carroll (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: I hereby Certify that on this 9th day of January in the year of eighteen hundred and fifty eight before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared Peter Carroll and acknowledged the foregoing mortgage to be his act and at the same time before me also Thomas R. Stewart and made oath in due form of law that the consideration in the said Mortgage is true and Bona fide as therein set forth Jno B. Leckie a Justice of the Peace Del.d to Thomas R. Stewart July 15 1858 Thomas B. Sherman Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage √ from x.d Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 25 day of June 1858. Henry Johnson I Henry Johnson of Dorchester County State of Maryland being now indebted to Thomas B. Sherman of the County & State aforesaid in the sum of Eighty three dollars with interest from 15th day of June 1858 in Consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell to the said Thomas B. Sherman the following property "Viz" one sorrel mare about seven years old, one yoke steers & two cows. Provided that if I the said Henry Johnson shall pay to the said Thomas B. Sherman the sum of Eighty three Dollars with interest thereon on or before the 15 day of June A. D. 1859 then these presents shall be void. The lossage of the above property during the time mentioned as at the risk of S. H. Johnson Witness my hand and seal this 15 day of June A. D. 1858. his Test Jno B.
