Stewart (seal) his William x Reagan (seal) mark Stephen Hurley (seal) The above Bond and sureties approved by the County Commissioners for Dorchester County this 28 day of July 1857 Josiah Jump Clerk County Commissioners The State of Maryland Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bond √ from xd was received and recorded on the 20th day of July 1857 to wit: Thomas J Dail James A Know all men by these presents that we Thomas J. Dail, James A. Waddell John L Willis & others Waddell, John L. Willis, Wm C Huffington & James Woolford of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Three thousand Dollars Current money to be paid to the said State of Maryland to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this this 24th day of ^of^ May Eighteen hundred and fifty seven. Whereas by an act of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at January Session Eighteen hundred and fifty six Chapter One Hundred and twenty five the above named Thomas J. Dail, James A. Waddell and John L. Willis were appointed Commissioners to make sale of the States interest in all the lands reserved and set apart for the use of the remnant of the Tribe of Choptank Indians or their descendants by the Commissioners Henry Waggaman, James Steele Moses LeCompte and William Marbury appointed by and under the provisions of the act of Assembly passed at November Session Seventeen hundred and ninety eight Chapter eighty two. The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Thomas J. Dail James A. Waddell and John L. Willis shall well and faithfully perform the trust reposed in them by the said recited act of Assembly passed at January Session 1857 Chapter 125 or that may be reposed in them by any subsequent act then the above obligation to be void otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. Henry Clk George Willey Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale √ from xd was received and recorded on the 31st day of July Anno Domini 1857 to wit: John Davis I John Davis of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland in Consideration of Five Hundred Dollars paid me by George Willey of the same County and State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said George Willey the following property to wit: one |
