Henry Cornish      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
   √   from  xd       Deed of Manumission was received and recorded on the 22.d day of June 1857
Levi D. Travers    I Levi D. Travers of Dorchester County and State of Maryland
                            do hereby manumit set free my negro Slave Henry Cornish aged about
45 years of age about 6 feet high of dark chesnut color bald headed & of rather pleasant
countenance his freedom to commence from the date of these presents.  Witness my
hand and seal this the 22nd day of June A. D. 1857

                                              State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  I hereby
Certify that on this 22nd day of June 1857 personally appeared Levi D. Travers before
the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Dorchester County and acknowledged the
foregoing Deed of Manumission to be his act.

Govane Redditt      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Mortgage
√      from   xd        Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 26th day of June 1857 to wit
Elizar L Foote         I E. L. Foote of Dorchester County State of Maryland being now
                              indebted to Govaine Redditt of said County & State in the sum of
Six Hundred Dollars with interest from the twenty seventh day of April 1857 in
Consideration thereof do hereby bargain and sell to the said Govaine Redditt the following
property "Viz" my partable steam engine, Chronometer watch and ll my Household
furniture.  Provided, that if I the said E. L. Foote shall pay to the said Govaine
Redditt the sum of Six Hundred Dollars with interest thereon on or before the twenty seventh
day of September 1857 then these presents shall be void.  Provided further that in
default of payment the said Govaine Redditt may sell the above mortgaged property
in the following manner "Viz" by giving ten days notice at the residence of the said E. L.
Foote and by advertising the said articles of property one time in one of the Cambridge
newspapers giving notice therein of the day of Sale the amount of indebtedness which the
above mortgaged property is intended to cover and a general description of the property

       Witness my hand & seal this twenty fifth day of June A. D. Eighteen hundred & fifty seven

                         Dorchester County State of Maryland to wit:  I hereby Certify that
on this twenty fifth day of June 1857 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in
and for said County & State personally appeared E. L. Foote and acknowledged the foregoing

made oath in due form of law that the consideration herein set forth is true & Bona fide
