270 Zebidee Harper, David Hardican State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: I hereby Certify that on this fourth day of Aprill in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty seven personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Dorchester County aforesaid Isaack Baly and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his act. Zebidee Harper The State of Maryland Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bond was received √ from xd and recorded on the 14th day of April Anno Domini 1857 to wit: Robert H, Creighton & others Know all men by these presents that we Robert H Creighton Wm L. Meekins & Henry C. Woodland of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Two Hundred Dollars Current money of Maryland to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done. We bind ourselves our heirs Execrators and administrators in the whole an for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this first day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty seven. Whereas, the County Commissioners for Dorchester County by virtue of a supplement entitled "An additional supplement to the act to regulate Ferries have contracted with the said Robert H Creighton keep the Ferry over a place Called the Narrows on Hoopers Island and agree to allow the said Robert H. Creighton the sum of One Hundred and fifty Dollars Current money for the same. Now the Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Robert H. Creighton shall well faithfully and diligently keep the said Ferry over the place Called the Narrows on Hoopers Island from the dawn of day light in the morning until the expiration of day light in the evening each day from the first day of January 1857 until the first day of January 1858 and shall keep constantly and in good order a scow that will safely carry three passengers and three horses at one trip with an able bodied and skilful hand to attend the said Ferry and shall not charge or receive any greater price for services than what is allowed by law. Meekins of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Three Hundred Dollars Current money of the United States to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators in the whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents.
