256 the funds of the said Mary R. Vincent in the purchase of one of said negroes and in further consideration of seven hundred and fifty dollars of said Mary R. Vincent funds thus invested. I do hereby bargain and sell to the said Mary R. Vincent Negro man George aged about twenty five years slave for life. Witness my hand and seal this second day of February 1857. Twilley (seal) Administrator State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit I hereby certify that on this 2d day of February 1857 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for Dorchester County aforesaid William D. Twilley and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of Sale to be his act. Charles Corkran In Dorchester County Orphans Court February 2nd Anno Domini 1857 Whereas by an order of this Court passed on the 26th day of January 1857 William D. Twilley who intermarried with Elisabeth A. Vincent Guardian of Mary R. Vincent Orphan of John Vincent deceased was authorized to invest certain of his wards money in the purchase of negro man George belonging to the Estate of Willis Vincent deceased. The Court do hereby satisfy and approve of the investment thus made in accordance with the order as above specified passed by this Court And in fulfillment of which this bill of sale has been executed to said Mary R. Vincent by said William D. Twilley who by right of his intermarriage as aforesaid in Admr of Willis Vincent deceased and of Mary R. Vincent as aforesaid is the Guardian Zadock H. Ross Levin Jones Alexander H. Bayly Be it remembered and it is hereby certified √ From xd that the following Bill of Sale was received & recorded Josiah Bayly on the 3rd day of February 1857 to wit State of Maryland Dorchester County I Josiah Bayley of Cambridge Dorchester County Maryland in consideration of Five hundred dollars paid me by Alexander H. Bayley of Cambridge in the said State and County do hereby bargain and sell to the said Alexander H. Bayley the following property the Book case together with all and singular the books and library to me belonging now being in the house where I reside in Cambridge together with all and singular the furniture therein consisting of a bed, tables, pictures bureau, dressing bureau and other furniture therein being.
