238 of August 1856 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Dorchester County aforesaid Thomas W Anderson Guardian &.c bargainor and William Spedden bargainee and acknowledged the foregoing bill of Sale to be their act: At the same time the said Thomas W. Anderson made oath that the Consideration mentioned in the said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth Acknowledged Before Charles Corkran In Dorchester County Orphans' Court August 4th June Domini 1856 On application of Thomas W Anderson Guardian of Edward Noel Eccleston representing to the Court that his Ward now about twenty years of age is desirous of going West and praying an order to sell his Ward's negro boy Bill for a term of years and to advance the proceeds of such sale to his said Ward. And the said Edward Noel Eccleston being present in Court and joining in the application. It is therefore ordered by the Court that Thomas W Anderson Guardian of Edward Noel Eccleston sell by private sale for a term of thirteen years from the first day of January next his Ward's negro Boy Bill at the expiration of which term the said negro man Bill is to revert to said Edward Noel Eccleston and it is further ordered that said Guardian advance the proceeds of such sale to his said Ward True Copy Test Thomas H Hicks Register of Wills for Dorchester Coy William V M Edmondson Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill √ from xd 45 of Sale was received and recorded on the 8th day of September 1856 to wit Samuel E. Collins I Samuel E Collins of Dorchester County State of Maryland in consideration of the sum of One Hundred and seven Dollars paid me by W. V. M. Edmondson of the County and State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said W V M Edmondson one Bay Horse being the same Horse which I purchased from a Certain William H Ross witness my hand and seal this day of August 1856. Test E K Bramble Samuel E Collins (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit I hereby certify that on this twenty second day of August 1856 Personally appeared Samuel E Collins before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledged the foregoing Bill of Sale to be his act Acknowledged Before E K Bramble J. P. State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on this 23rd day of August 1856 Personally appeared W. V. M. Edmondson the party grantee in the foregoing Bill of Sale before me a Justice of the State and County aforesaid and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the foregoing Bill of Sale is for a Bona fide Consideration and not done to defraud creditors Sworn Before E. K. Bramble J. P. Deld to W V M Edmondson 19 April 1858 Robert W Rawleigh Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of Sale √ from xd was received and recorded on the 15th day of September Anno Domini 1856 to wit Charles L LeCompte I Charles L. LeCompte of the Town of Cambridge in Consideration of Fifty two Dollars & fifty six Cents paid me by Robert W. Rawleigh the following property one Bay Horse Patch with white nose.
