State of Maryland Dorchester County Sc:   Be it remembered that on this 27th
September 1852 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County and State aforesaid
personally appeared W. V. M. Edmondson the party mortgagee aforesaid and made Oath on the holy
Evangely of Almighty God the aforesaid mortgage or Bill of sale is Bona fide and not taken
for the purpose of defrauding Creditors

Francis J. Henry     Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following Bill of sale
    Exd   from          was received and recorded on the 14th day of October 1852 to wit;
James Baynard       Know all men by these presents, that I James Baynard of Dorchester
County, and State of Maryland, for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seventy Dollars Current money
to me in hand paid by Francis J. Henry of Dorchester County and State of Maryland have granted
bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Francis J. Henry
his heirs and assigns the following property to wit      one four wheel Carriage & harness, one horse
Cart and Gear.  Three head of hogs, one grey horse, and all the rest and residue of the property
which a Certain John Hawkins negro conveyed to the said James Baynard by Bill of
Sale dated the 11th day of June 1852 reference being haid to bill of Sale will more fully appear To
Have and To Hold the said described property as above bargained and sold unto the Said
Francis J. Henry his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, against me the said James
Baynard my heirs, executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons
whatsoever, Shall and will warrant and forever defend      In testimony whereof I James
Baynard have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this foureteenth day of October eighteen
hundred and fifty two                                                                     his

                   Maryland Dorchester County, to wit:      On the fourteenth day of October
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two personally appeared before
me, a Justice of the peace in and for said County, the within named James Baynard and
acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed according to the purport, true
intent and meaning of the same, and at the same time Came before me Francis J. Henry
^party^ Grantee within mentioned, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God, that the
Consideration set forth in this bill of sale, is true and bona fide, as therein set forth

James R. Phillips      Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following
    Exd   from           Bill of sal was received and recorded on the 27th day of October
Thomas K. Smith     1852 to wit:
                                     Know all men by these presents that I Thomas K. Smith
of Dorchester County State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Sum of Four hundred
Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by James R. Phillips of the County and state
