219 sell unto John A. L. Radcliff his executors administrators and assigns the following negroes to wit: one negro man named Isaac aged twenty eight years a Slave for life, one negro woman named Maria aged twenty Six years a Slave for life, one negro boy named Thomas aged Six years a Slave for life, one negro girl named Harriett aged three years a Slave for life, one negro girl named Alice and Ten months a Slave for life one negro girl named Fanny aged Ten months a Slave for life To Have and To Hold all and Singular the Said negroes above bargained and Sold or mentioned and intended so to be to the Said John A. L. Radcliff his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever and I the Said Mary Hurley for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and Singular the Said negroes above mentioned and other the premises unto the Said John A. L. Radcliff his executors administrators and assigns against me the said Mary Hurley my heirs executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this thirty first day of May Eighteen Hundred and fifty Six. Mary Hurley (seal) Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of S. W. Lecompte State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on this thirty first day of May Eighteen Hundred and fifty Six: before me the Subscribe a justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appeared Mary Hurley who is known to me to be the person who is named and described do and professing to be the person or party to the within Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged the Same to be her act and deed. At the same time & place also personally appeared before me Justice of the Peace aforesaid. John A. L. Radcliff the vendee in the within Bill of Sale and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the Said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged & Sworn before S. W. Lecompte J. Peace In & for Dorchester county Del.d to Jno A Radcliff the 15th March 1858. Edward K. Bramble Be it remembered and it is hereby certified √ from xd that the following Bill of Sale was received and James W. Rawlings recorded on the 2d day of June 1856 to wit: Know all men by these presents that I James W. Rawlings of Dorchester county in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred and fifty Dollars current money to me in hand paid by Edward K. Bramble of the county and State aforesaid at and before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the Said James W. Rawlings do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the Said Edward K. Bramble his Executors |
