P. mark State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit: Be it Remembered on this 15 day of May 1856 Before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for Dorchester County in the State of maryland personally appeared James Read and acknowledged the above Bill of Sale to be his act & deed according to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Witness my hand Daniel Cannon J. P. State of Maryland Dorchester County, to wit: On this 15 day of May 1856 Before me a Justice of the peace for said County come James H. Willis and Asbury Deand and made Oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty god that the Said James Read who is gave the within Bill of Sale is bone fied indebted to the Said James H. Willis and Asbury Dean the full Sum which is named in the within Bill of Sale To the best of there Knowledge and Belief Sworn before Daniel Cannon J. P. William W. Crawford Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the Paid From following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received and recorded James M. Reed on the 26th day of May 1856, to wit: This Indenture made this Twenty Second day of May in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty Six between James M. Reed of Dorchester County and State of Maryland of the one part and William W. Crawford of Dorchester County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the Said James M. Reed owes and stands justly indebted to the said William W. Crawford on the Lease or agreement for Rent of Farm in Black water where he now lives for the year of Eighteen Hundred and fifty five in the Sum of One Hundred and forty Dollars current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture witnesseth that the Said James M. Reed for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar current money to him in hand paid by the Said William W. Crawford at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the Said James M. Reed doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit exonerate and forever discharge the Said William W. Crawford his heirs executors and administrators and every of them by these presents hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto William W. Crawford his executors administrators and assigns all and Singular the property hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to Say, One Bay Horse, one Sorrel Mare, one yoke of Oxen, one ox cart, Ten Sheep, Twenty Hogs Two cows. To Have and To Hold all and Singular the Said Property hereinbefore granted bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto the Said William W.
