187 one lot of flax, and all the residue of my Household and Kitchen furniture all and singular which said Goods and Chattels are now remaining standing and being in a Certain Messuage or tenement situate in Dorchester County and now in the occupation of the said Mitchell Sherman. To Have and To Hold all and singular the said Goods and Chattels and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said William H. Sherman his Executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Mitchell Sherman for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said Goods and Chattels unto the said William H. Sherman his executors administrators and assigns against me the said Mitchell Sherman my executors and administrators and against these presents. In Witness Whereof, I the said Mitchell Sherman hath hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of November Eighteen Hundred & fifty five Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of his Robert R. Robertson Mitchell x Sherman (seal) mark State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit: Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of November eighteen hundred and fifty five before the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid personally appeared Mitchell Sherman party grantor in the within and foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed. And at the same time and place also appeared before me Justice as aforesaid William H. Sherman party grantee in said Bill of Sale named and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in said Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. In Testimony Whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day & year aforesaid. Robert R. Robertson Received the 24th day of November 1855 of William H. Sherman the sum of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this bill of Sale. Francis J. Henry Clk The State of Maryland Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that √ From xd the following Bond was received and recorded on Robert Bell & others the 11th day of December in the year of our Lord 1855 (stamp) ( six ) Know all men by these presents that we Robert Bell, (Dollars) Thomas H. Hicks John W. Dail Robert G. Rawleigh Slater D. Twilley John W. Brohawn and Joseph R. Stewart of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Twenty Six thousand six hundred and sixty six Dollars Sixty Six and two third cents current money to be paid to the said State or its certain attorney to which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this Eleventh day of December Eighteen Hundred and fifty five The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Robert Bell as Sheriff of Dorchester County do and shall well and faithfully execute the same office in all things appertaining thereto and shall also render to the several officers within this State a just and true |
