175 our seals and dated this 8th day of May 1855 whereas the Commissioners for Dorchester County by virtue of a Supplement to the act entitled an additional supplement to the act entitled an act to regulate ferries have Contracted with the Said Daniel Johnson to keep the ferry over fishing Creek from Meekin's Neck to Hoopers Island and agree to allow the Said Daniel Johnson the sum of Two Hundred & twenty five Dollars Current money for the Same Now the Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Daniel Johnson shall faithfully & diligently keep the Said ferry over fishing Creek from Meekins Neck to Hoopers Island from day light to day light from the first of November to the first of March and from an hour before to an hour after day light for the residue of the year commencing the Tenth day of May 1855 and ending twelve months thereafter and Shall keep Constantly and in good order a Scow that will Safely Carry three passangers and their horses at one trip with one able bodied Skillful hand to attend the Said ferry and shall not charge or receive any greater price for ferriage than what is allowed him by law, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise of full force and virtue in law his Signed Sealed and delivered Daniel x Johnson (seal) in the presence of mark James Smith George B. State of Maryland Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that the √ from xd following Bond was received and recorded on the 14th Thomas J. Simmons day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand & Washington A. Smith eight hundred and Fifty five to wit: Know all men by these presents That we Thomas J. Simmons and Washington A.
