Greene of Said County at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said Susan A. Green her Executors Administrators and Assigns one negro man Moses slave for life aged about fifty years one negro boy Jenkins slave for life aged about Seventeen years one negro woman Emily slave for life aged about thirty years one negro woman Rhoda slave for life aged about twenty one years one negro boy Horace slave for life aged about twenty two years one negro boy Sam slave for life aged about 15 or 17 years; one negro woman Dido Slave for life aged about fifty five years one negro woman Mahaley slave for life aged about fifty years; one negro Girl Elizabeth slave for life aged about twelve years one negro boy Moses slave for life aged about Eight years one negro boy Spencer Slave for life aged about Seven years one negro boy Charles slave for life aged about Six years one negro man Harry slave for life aged about Sixty five years one negro Charles Slave for life aged about sixty five years one negro man Jim slave for life aged about Sixty Seven years (all of which Said Slaves were sold by the said administrators in pursuance of an order of the orphans Court of Baltimore County passed on the 17th day of april A. D. 1855) To Have and To Hold the said described negroes to the said Susan A. Green her Executors Administrators and Assigns forever. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twenty fourth day of April eighteen hundred and fifty five Signed Sealed & Delivered Septimus Thompson (seal) in the presence of Susan A. Greene (seal) admrs W.m D. Barrow State of Maryland Dorchester County sct: Be it remembered that on this Twenty fourth day of April 1855 before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for Said County appeared Susan A. Greene and Septimus Thompson and acknowledged the foregoing Instrument of writing to be their act and deed. And now at the same time before me personally appeared also Susan A. Greene the within named bargainee and made Oath in due form of law that the Consideration set forth in the foregoing Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the day and year aforesaid W.m D. Barrow Received this 24th day of April 1855 of Susan A. Greene the Sum of One Dollar in lieu of a stamp on this Bill of Sale F. J. Henry clk Susan A. Greene Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that the following √ from x.d mortgage Bill of Sale was received and recorded on the 24th day Septimus Thompson & of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred Sarah L. Thompson and fifty five to wit: This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of April A. D. 1855 between Septimus Thompson of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland and Sarah Lydia Thompson his wife of the one part and Susan A. Greene of the same place of the other part. Whereas upon the Settlement of the personal estate of the late Nathaniel E. Greene deceased of Baltimore County it has been ascertained that a balance of One thousand five hundred and twenty one dollars and forty two Cents is still due and owing to the Said Susan A. Greene (widow of the Said deceased and residuary Legatee Delivered to Doct V M Edmondson Octo 18th 1855 |
